Sioux City currently sits in 6th place in the Western Conference with 17 points. They are just behind Lincoln in the West by one point. Lincoln sits in 5th place in the conference with a 8-7-1-1 record.
The Musketeers are 1-1 against Lincoln this year after a doubleheader weekend back on October 25th and 26th. The Musketeers won game 1 in overtime by the score of 3-2. Lincoln took game 2 by the score of 4-1. Both teams could really use the points Wednesday night. The Musketeers will have to keep out of the penalty box as the Stars are the best in the West on the powerplay with a success rate of 21.3%. The Musketeers have struggled in stopping powerplay goals as of late allowing 7 powerplay goals in the last 4 games.
Impact players for Lincoln include Josh Groll and Christian Sarlo who lead the Stars in points this year with 18 and 17 respectively.
For Sioux City, Dominic Vidoli and Sam Stange are the leading point getters with 14 and 12 respectively.
After Wednesday, the Musketeers will head north for the 2nd matchup in the I-29 rivalry this year against the Sioux Falls Stampede on Black Friday. The Musketeers won the first matchup 5-2 and will try and make it 2-0 at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center at 7:05 P.M on Friday night.
