LINCOLN, NE - The Lincoln Saltdogs dropped their series finale at Sioux City, losing 6-2. Lincoln drops to 12-7 on the season.

Sioux City jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning against Lincoln starter Tim Brown (2-2) and never looked back. The Explorers scored their first run on a double steal, and added RBI hits by Ray Serrano and T.J. Bohn. Bohn tacked on a two-run home run in the third inning, and Serrano hit an RBI double in the fifth for the X's final tally.

The Saltdogs, meanwhile, mounted several threats against Sioux City starter David Trahan (2-0), but could not convert on multiple opportunities. Lincoln put two men on with less than two out in the second, fourth, fifth and sixth innings, but failed to score in any of those frames. The ‘Dogs got their first run in the third inning on an RBI double by Argelis Nunez. Nunez repeated the feat in the ninth inning for the final run of the game, but Lincoln left 12 men on base overall, and went 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position.

Nunez ended the night 2-for-4 with his two RBI. Phil Hawke went 2-for-4 and scored both Lincoln runs, while Shawn McGill went 2-for-2 with a pair of walks. Ben Paxton and Greg Lane combined for three scoreless innings of relief.

Lincoln now heads to Wichita for a three-game series that begins Friday night at 7:05. Right-hander Billy Weitzman will take the mound for the Saltdogs.
