March 4, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release
Friday, March 6, 2015 vs. Oklahoma City Barons
Time: 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Rockford Hockey Club Game: The IceHogs are recognizing youth hockey around the community as they sport specialty Rockford Hockey Club uniforms. A select number of jerseys will be available during a blind silent auction in the concourse and via the IceHogs jersey raffle, while the remainder will be available online through Rockford Hockey Club. Proceeds will benefit young hockey players in the Rockford area.
Blues Flame Lounge Pre-Game Party: Those 21-and-older can get their weekend started at the BMO at the Blues Flame Lounge Pre-Game Party. Guests can take advantage of free appetizers, drink specials and live music, starting at 5:45 p.m. Fans must have a game ticket and must enter through the upper-concourse level entrance on Elm St, near the box office.
Matchup: The IceHogs take on the Western Conference-leading Barons for the fourth and final time this season as they begin a key home doubleheader. Oklahoma City began the week four points ahead of the third-place IceHogs in the standings as the playoff race in the West is intensifying. Rockford won the previous matchup with the Barons 3-1 back on Feb. 14 at the BMO, and is 1-1-1-0 through the first three games with the West Division foe this year.
Saturday, March 7, 2015 vs. Grand Rapids Griffins
Time: 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Red-Out Night: The IceHogs are attempting to turn an expected sell-out crowd at the BMO into a sea of red on Saturday for Red-Out Night. The first 1,500 fans will receive a free Red-Out T-shirt courtesy of Toyota, while everyone is encouraged to wear red to the arena.
Papa John's Post-Game Shootout: Fans are encouraged to stay after the game to take a shot from center ice to win free pizza from Papa John's. Even if fans don't score, they will not leave empty handed, as everyone who participates will win a prize.
Matchup: In a clash of the top teams in the Midwest Division, the IceHogs and Griffins square off to jockey for postseason positioning. Rockford is 3-1-0-0 against Grand Rapids this season, with their last meeting coming in a shootout victory in Michigan on New Year's Eve. Saturday night is the fifth of eight meetings between the two division rivals, with two matchups remaining at each location.
Tickets: Limited tickets are still available for both games (Saturday's game standing room only) and can be purchased at the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office or any Ticketmaster location, by phone (815-968-5222) or online at www.icehogs.com.
Broadcast Information: All games are broadcast locally live on 23.2 Antenna TV or can be seen online at AHLLive.com, along with a free audio broadcast of the game. Follow along on Twitter (@goIceHogs) for live updates throughout the game.
