Lights FC Keeps Stacking Points on the Road with 0-0 Tie in Phoenix
August 7, 2022 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Las Vegas Lights FC News Release
After defeating Rising FC twice in Las Vegas this year, Lights FC traveled to Phoenix for the final match between these teams in 2022.
Both squads created chances in an entertaining first half where neither was able to find the back of the net, but the Lights had a total of four shots on target while the home side only had one. This was the 15th time the Las Vegas defense didn't allow a goal in the first half, most in USL Championship this year.
Tomas Romero, El Salvador National Team golkeeper, notched his second clean sheet this season and sixth for the club in 2022 in the scoreless draw between these teams.
Lights FC extended their undefeated streak on the road to five games.
This point obtained in Phoenix is key for the Lights, taking advantage of L.A. Galaxy II's defeat against Loudon and not allowing Rising FC to add in this match. Vegas finishes the day sixth place in the Western Conference with 33 points. The top-7 teams advance to the playoffs.
