Lights FC took on L.A. Force in the second round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. This match took place at UNLV's Peter Johann Memorial Field.

Las Vegas native Azriel Gonzalez had his first official start with Lights FC and he made the most of it by finding the back of the net twice. He opened the score off of a free kick in the 16th minute, plus struck the ball inside the box after a fantastic cross from Eric Oteng in the 23rd minute.

Justin Ingram extended Lights FC's lead in the 37th minute with a magnificent shot from outside the box.

Liga MX and MLS veteran Erick "Cubo" Torres put his stamp on this match in the 64th minute to put Las Vegas ahead 4-0.

Goalkeeper Andre Zuluaga made his Lights FC debut and did so by keeping a clean sheet.

With this victory, Lights FC advances to the third round of the U.S. Open Cup, where they're set to play on Wednesday, April 26. Third round matchups will be announced on Thursday, April 6th at 3:30 p.m.

NEXT GAME:

Lights FC will return to league play for their following game by making a trip to Memphis to face 901 FC on Saturday, April 15th at 5 p.m. PT.

NEXT HOME GAME:

Las Vegas will play their first regular season home game of the year on Friday, Cinco de Mayo at 7:30 p.m. against the Charleston Battery at Cashman Field.
