Louisville City FC News Release
Louisville City FC and Lexington SC will meet for the first time on Wednesday as part of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Lynn Family Stadium.
After starting 2-0, the second-division USL Championship side LouCity enters Cup competition having lost its last pair by a combined 8-0 score - the largest negative two-game differential in club history.
Third-division USL League One's Lexington SC is just two games into its brief history, dropping both contests so far.
Wednesday's winner will advance to the Open Cup's Third Round to be played April 25-26. It's then that Major League Soccer clubs are introduced to U.S. Soccer's knockout national championship tournament.
