Post Game Quote Sheet
Richard ChaplowOn tonight's game:
"I thought Capo tried to do what they needed to win the game and I respect that. I think these games in the Cup are nice for the community because our people are here, and Capo is local so it's a little bit more of a family affair if you will. You know and as an organization, representing professional football in Orange County, it's nice to have anyone local come to town and play against us and this was a local game, so it was nice to have them here."
"I'm glad they came, but they didn't get the goal because it showed our guys what I was talking about in the buildup that they're a dangerous team. And obviously we ride that out when you get a little bit of a look which you always need for a clean sheet anyway, but I thought we kicked on and showed our class after that and really put the foot down and should have been more than two at halftime it wasn't, should have been more than five at full time but it wasn't, but at the same time I thought it was a very professional performance"
On Potential Round 3 Opponents MLS Draw
"I think we saw what Sacramento were able to achieve last year, putting together some solid performances. So to get that opportunity, again to play against a local MLS rival, it doesn't matter who it is. We always take pride in that."
"I'd love to play Galaxy down at Galaxy and have a really good go at them"
What it would take to beat an MLS team
"Definitely always a bit of luck. I think we're a stronger team than we were last year and I think we went down to a good LAFC team and performed for 30 minutes, got hit on a counter attack they showed their quality from there on out. But you just need to do the basics and get a little bit of luck I think and if you have a talented enough team you can win games against MLS teams. I think Sacramento showed that last year along with other teams in the past. You know Galaxy are obviously a monster of an organization and it would be nice to go down there or even play them here on a midweek game and see what can happen. The magic of the cup."
