Rockford Lightning News Release

Rockford, IL- After picking up an important win against the Gary Steelheads on Saturday night, the Lightning take it to the road to face the first place team in the Eastern Conference, and the CBA's newest franchise. 11 out of 15 game sin the month of December are against the CBA's two Michigan teams. On Wednesday night, the Lightning travel to the Birch Run Expo Center to take on the Eastern Conference leading Great Lakes Storm. Despite a .500 record at 2-2, the Lightning are in third place in the Eastern Conference due to a lower quarter point average than the 2-3 Gary Steelheads. After starting the season 3-0, the Storm have lost their last two, and they only earned two quarter points in a loss to Idaho on Saturday night.

The Bolts also hope to gain ground by defeating the expansion Michigan Mayhem on Thursday, December 2. The Mayhem are winless on the season, but only lost to the Western Conference leading Sioux Falls Skyforce 89-85 on Sunday night. "We have to prove our road winning record. This December is a make or break month for us; we have to get off to a good start," says Lightning Head Coach Chris Daleo.

After playing two road games in the Wolverine State this week, the Bolts return to the Rockford MetroCentre to face the Michigan Mayhem for the second time in six days. Tip off time is 7:05; anyone who donated a toy for the toy drive this past Saturday will be able to redeem his or her ticket for this game. Also, it's the beginning of the 2004 Rockford Lightning Media 3 on 3 Tournament. Plans are in the works to see which of your local media celebrities will be participating, but it should be entertaining and fun. For tickets, contact the MetroCentre Box Office at 968-5222.
