
Yakima Sun Kings Drop A Pair On The Road

The Yakima Sun Kings dropped to 1-3 overall after losing on the road to Sioux Falls 114-95 on Friday night and then against Dakota on Saturday night 109-85. Yakima managed only 1 quarter point each night, dropping them to last place in the Western Conference.
On Friday night, although Marlon Parner led all scores with 30 points and Lonnie Baxter dropped an additional 21 points, the Sioux Falls Skyforce dominated all scoring with seven of their nine players scoring in double figures; three of those in double-doubles. Coursely Edwards led the Skyforce with 26 points and 12 rebounds, while John Thomas and Alpha Bangura added 17 points. Yakima trailed by 4 heading into halftime, but the Skyforce outscored Yakima 33-21 in the third quarter and maintained the lead to take the 6-1 quarter point win.
On Saturday night Jeremy Veal led the Sun Kings with 19 points, but the Dakota Wizards pulled away early in the first period, outscoring the Sun Kings 31-15. Dickey Simpkins led the Skyforce with 22 points and 10 boards. The Sun Kings trailed at the half 39-61, but won their only quarter point in the third quarter outscoring the Skyforce by 7. Saturday night marked the third straight loss for the Sun Kings who continue their road trip Tuesday, November 30 at Dakota.
