Rockford Lightning News Release
Marlon Parmer led the Lightning with 30 points in a 113-97 victory over the Michigan
Mayhem on Wednesday night in Muskegon. The Lightning grabbed 6.0-quarter points as
they snapped a three game losing streak and increased their lead over the Eastern
Conference.
Rockford took a seven-point lead into the locker room at halftime winning both
quarter points in the process. After building the lead to 13 points with little
over a minute to play in the third quarter, the Mayhem fought back with three
3-point plays in the final 1:24 to edge the Lightning 28-27 and steal the quarter
point. Led by Parmer and Brant Bailey with 11 points apiece in the final quarter,
Rockford took no chances as they went on to win the quarter by 10 points to take the
game from Michigan.
Roger Powell added 25 points and 8 rebounds for the Lightning while Bailey added 14
points in his second game with the team. Ronnie Fields finished with 16 points, 6
rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals. Parmer added 4 rebounds and 10 assists to go
with his game high 30 points.
