The Rockford Lightning is proud to present University of Illinois Fighting Illini
Night at the MetroCentre on Tuesday, February 21, 2006.
The Rockford Area Illini Club would like to invite any and all friends of the Illini
to purchase a ticket in advance to join them in the VIP Area before the Lightning
game. Special Illini tickets are currently on sale through the Lightning office for
$18 a ticket. The price of the ticket includes a chicken dinner with drinks in the
private VIP area where Illini fans will gather to watch the University of Illinois
take on the Michigan Wolverines at Ann Arbor. Aaron's Sales & Lease, located at
6321 N. 2nd St. in Loves Park, will be bringing two 52" RCA High Definition
televisions for the Illini Game Watch in the VIP area before the Lightning
game.
Former Illinois basketball star Kenny Battle will be dropping by the Lightning game
for Tuesday night's match up with the Gary Steelheads. The Alumni Club is also
sponsoring the Illinettes Dance Team to make the trip to Rockford for a meet and
greet with fans in the private VIP area before the Lightning game at 7:05, and they
will also perform at halftime of the Rockford vs. Gary game that night.
Festivities for Illini night included in price of Illini ticket:
-Meet and Greet with Illinettes before the game
-Catered chicken dinner with baked beans, macaroni and cheese, tossed salad, and
drinks in private VIP area
-Illini game watch against Michigan Wolverines on 2-52" RCA Hi-Definition big screen
televisions from Aaron's Sales & Lease before Lightning game
-Auction of Illini memorabilia (Illini Media Guide autographed by Bruce Weber, Roger
Powell autographed basketball, etc...)
-Illinettes halftime performance
-The RAIC will present Roger Powell with an honorary lifetime membership to the U of
I Alumni Club
-Meet with former Illini Basketball Star Kenny Battle
-Autograph session with Roger Powell and your favorite Lightning players following

Tip-Off for Tuesday night's match up with the Steelheads is set for 7:05 P.M. (CST). Doors will open at 6:00, and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Lightning Drawstring Bag courtesy of Axberg Heating. Illini Night tickets and group orders can be purchased through the Lightning Office by calling 815-874-4232. You do not need to purchase an Illini ticket to watch the Lightning play, only to enjoy the Illini night festivities. Single game tickets can be purchased through the MetroCentre Box Office by calling 815-968-5222.
