Liberty Suffers Narrow Loss to Mystics in Finale

On Sunday, the New York Liberty (32-8) fell to the Washington Mystics (19-21), 90-88,in their regular-season finale and final game of their 2023 four-game season series, splitting the series, 2-2.

At Barclays Center, the Liberty finished on 40.5% (30-74) shooting from the field, 32.4% (12-37) from three, and 100% (16-16) at the free throw line.

Up Next: The New York Liberty will host the Washington Mystics on Friday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m. ET in the opener of their 2023 WNBA Playoffs First Round series.

New York finished with four double-digit scorers in today's game (Ionescu, Jones, Laney, Johannès).

Sabrina Ionescu recorded 20 points on 66.7% (6-9) shooting from the field, including 66.7% (4-6) from three, seven rebounds, and seven assists.

Jonquel Jones finished with a near double-double of 19 points on 61.5% (8-13) shooting from the field, nine rebounds, and two assists.

Betnijah Laney totaled 13 points on 44.4% (4-9) shooting from the field.

Marine Johannès added 11 points on 50% (3-6) from the field, including 50% (3-6) form three, three assists, and two rebounds off the bench.

For Washington, Brittney Sykes finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
