(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Mike Foltynewicz pitched six shutout innings and Delino DeShields Jr. hit a home run and stole two bases as the Lexington Legends defeated the Kannapolis Intimidators 2-0 Tuesday night. The win ended the Legends' losing streak at six games.

Foltynewicz (10-2) allowed just four hits and struck out six batters on the way to his 10th win, which ties him for the South Atlantic League lead with Hickory's Jerad Eickhoff. The win also gave Foltynewicz 15 for his career as a Legend, tying him with Mike Nannini (2001) for the most in club history.

Lexington took the lead with a run in the first. DeShields led off with a single, and then stole second and third. The two steals gave him 64 for the season, which leads the league. After Nolan Fontana walked, Matt Duffy doubled down the left field line, plating DeShields with the game's first run.

There was no further scoring until the seventh, when DeShields hit a towering 400-foot home run over the left field bleachers, his seventh of the season.

Murilo Gouvea pitched the seventh and the eighth, and Dayan Diaz worked the ninth to pick up his 11th save of the season.

Kannapolis starter Erik Johnson (1-2) took the loss. He allowed one run in five innings.

The Legends and Intimidators play game two of a four game series Wednesday afternoon. The Splash Day first pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m.
