Lexington Legends Crowned First Half Southern Division Champions

WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - With a 10-1 victory over the Columbia Fireflies, the Lexington Legends have secured a First Half Southern Division Championship as the first half of the season comes to a close.
After a South Atlantic League Championship last season, the Legends have reached the playoffs with Southern Division Playoff games set to be played at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in September.
Led by a standout day at the plate by Michael Gigliotti, the Legends scored three runs in back-to-back innings. Gigliotti went 3-5 with a run scored and four RBI. He also recorded one of the two triples by the Legends this afternoon. Jon Heasley tossed 6.0 innings for Lexington allowing one run on three hits while walking two and striking out seven.
Playoff dates and times will be announced at a later date and tickets will go on sale at that time.
