
Leo Lewis inducted into the Hall of Fame

WINNIPEG, MB - Former Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Leo (The Lincoln Locomotive) Lewis is among eight individuals and two teams who will be inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame Nov. 5 at Canad Inn! s Polo Park.
Lewis played 12 seasons (1955-66) for the Blue and Gold. He rushed for 8,856 yards on 1,351 carries and was a six-time CFL All-Star during those years. He scored 48 TDs and twice rushed for more than 1,000 yards in a season. He also caught 234 passes for 4,251 yards and 26 TDs.
A six-time CFL All-Star, Lewis played in six Grey Cups and was on the winning team four times (1958, '59, '61, and '62).
Lewis is already a member of the Canadian Football League Hall of Fame (1973) and the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame ('84).
