Laredo Lemurs News Release

Lincoln, NE - The Lincoln Saltdogs set the tone early in the game driving in five runs in the first two innings led by Jimmy Rohan's RBI double in the first and Sean Smith's two-run triple in the second.

Together, Rohan and Smith carried the load offensively as Rohan went four-for-four with four RBI and Smith went three-for-five with two RBI and three runs scored. Stephen Holdren also contributed two hits and a RBI.

Despite losing, the Lemurs were able to account for fourteen hits. Brian Peterson led the way by going two-for-four with a two-run home-run in the fourth inning and a RBI single in the eighth. John Allen and Anthony Scelfo also each contributed two hits.

On the mound, Brandon Sinnery was solid for the Saltdogs going 6.2 innings and only allowing three runs despite giving up nine hits. Sinnery also struck out six batters in his second start for Lincoln since being signed on July 28. His counterpart Mark Haynes did not fair as well giving up ten hits and six runs in 6.1 innings.

The Saltdogs have made the Lemurs' last month rally to reach the playoffs tougher by winning three of four games at Haymarket Park. The Lemurs stand nine games out of the wild card spot with twenty-nine games remaining in the season. They hope to regroup as they head to Grand Prairie to take on Air Hogs for a four game series.

The Lemurs will be on the road for an 11 game trip that will take them to Lincoln, Nebraska, Grand Prairie, Texas, and El Paso, Texas, for their longest trip of the year. You can get tickets at the Laredo Lemurs box office, online at www.laredolemurs.com, or by phone at 956-7LEMURS. All games at Uni- Trade Stadium are set for 7:30pm.
