Lexington Legends News Release
(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) The Lexington Legends will open a three-game series tonight at Whitaker Bank Ballpark against the Greenville Drive, an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
Former University of Kentucky pitcher Chandler Shepherd, a native of Louisa, Ky. and a graduate of Lawrence County High School, is with the Drive. Shepherd, a right-hander, was selected by the Red Sox in the 13th round of the June 2014 draft. He is 1-0 this season, and that win came against the Legends in Greenville April 15, his most recent appearance.
Shepherd pitched at Lowell in the New York-Penn League in 2014. He was 4-3 with a 4.05 earned run average in 16 appearances, 15 in relief.
Former Northern Kentucky University player Jordan Procyshen (pronounced pro-SESH-un), a native of Canada, is a catcher with the Drive.
The Legends are 5-5 for the season, one and a half games behind South Atlantic League Southern Division leader Asheville. Greenville is 4-6, two and a half games behind Asheville. Right-hander Pedro Fernandez (1-0, 1.08) gets the start for Lexington tonight. Right-hander Michael Kopech (0-1, 7.36) will start for Greenville.

Monday night is Kids Eat Free night. All children age 12 or under will receive a voucher for a free meal and drink as they enter the ballpark. On Tuesday night, hot dogs are 38 cents each in recognition of the Ford F-150 being the best-selling truck for the past 38 consecutive years.
