Lexington Legends News Release
The Lexington Legends will open their next-to-last home stand of the season Monday night, and fans can take advantage of a special price on box seats to enjoy the fun at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
Because of the "Legends Win, You Save" promotion on the previous home stand, box seat tickets will be on sale for only five dollars each for the next seven home games, August 20 through 26. The regular price is nine dollars.
The Legends, an affiliate of the Houston Astros, will play three games against the Greensboro Grasshoppers, an affiliate of the Miami Marlins, and four against the Charleston RiverDogs, an affiliate of the New York Yankees. Game time each night is 7:05 p.m., except for the Sunday game, which begins at 1:35 p.m.
"We're coming down the home stretch of what has been a tremendously successful and exciting season, both on and off the field," said Legends General Manager Seth Poteat. "Starting today we have a jam-packed week of all our best promotions. From kids eat free and 35-cent hot dogs, to our final Thirsty Thursday of the season, to Fireworks on Friday and the Zooperstars on Saturday, it's going to be an awesome week!"
The Legends are still in contention for the South Atlantic League Southern Division championship, but will need to have a good home stand. They trail the first-place Rome Braves by seven and one-half games, and will close the regular season against the Braves at Whitaker Bank Ballpark August 31-September 3.
The schedule:
Monday, August 20 : Legends vs. Greensboro, 7:05 p.m. At every Monday night home game, kids eat free, presented by Members Heritage Federal Credit Union. Each child age 12 or under will receive a voucher good for a healthy "Better Bites" combo.
Tuesday, August 21: Legends vs. Greensboro, 7:05 p.m. Tuesday night is 35-cent hot dog night. The price is in recognition of the Ford F-150 being the number one selling vehicle for 35 consecutive years.
