Legends Hold on to Hand Magic First Home Loss

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (3-7) held tightly to the lead to take their first wire-to-wire win and hand the Osceola Magic (6-4) their first loss at home 116-112.

The Legends grabbed the first basket and built a double-digit gap midway through the first quarter. The visitors had built their largest lead (+31) late in the third, but the home team finished the quarter with eight unanswered points to make it 92-69 at the buzzer. With 3:40 on the clock, the Legends led by 17, but the Magic forced a 15-2 run. After carrying a double-digit safety net through most of the game, Texas gave up 43 points in the fourth and found their opponents within two with 18 seconds to play. Dexter Dennis and Justin Jackson went 4-for-4 at the line to fend off the comeback.

Jackson led both sides in points (26) and rebounds (12) for his first double-double of the season while also dishing out 6 assists and tying the game-high 3 steals. Greg Brown III also finished with a double-double of 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Dennis added 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists, and Jelly Walker tagged on 18 points and a game-high 8 assists, 3 steals. Taze Moore came off the bench for Texas with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals, and Mike Miles Jr. added 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Trevelin Queen and Brandon Williams added 22 points each and combined for 15 rebounds. Miye Oni finished with a double-double for the Magic with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The Legends visit the Memphis Hustle Thursday at 7pm CT live on the UEN app. The team then returns home to host the Austin Spurs Dec. 9th at 7:30pm for Toys for Tots night presented by InTouch Credit Union.
