Legends Fend off D-Fenders

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends held off the Los Angeles D-Fenders Saturday night at Dr Pepper Arena 105-101.

The game saw 14 lead changes and 8 ties in the first matchup of the season between the two teams. Texas grabbed an eight point lead in the first quarter that grew to the largest of the game in the second as Jamil Wilson's long three-ball put the Legends up by 14. Los Angeles responded with a 20-6 run to tie it up and ultimately grabbed the advantage 57-55 going into the locker room.

Dallas Mavericks guard Justin Anderson powered out 9 points and 3 rebounds to put the Legends back in control in the third. Texas went up by nine halfway through the quarter but Los Angeles' Vander Blue pounded out 11 points to tie it up with seconds on the clock. Patrick Miller hit a timely three to close out the third with a Legends' advantage. Los Angeles regained control at the beginning of the fourth, but Texas' Brandon Ashley tied up the game with just under 10 minutes to play and Allen Durham grabbed the lead the Legends would hold through the final minutes.

Anderson powered out 20 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists while Ashley matched his points with 5 rebounds. Wilson came off the bench to lead the team with 14 rebounds and added 18 points and Toure' Murry had a game-high 10 assists while tallying 17 points.

Blue led the D-Fenders with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists while Andre Ingram added 19 points and 5 steals.
