
Legends Fall to Bakersfield in Final Seconds

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), faced the Bakersfield Jam in the first of a double-header. The Jam snapped a 7-game losing streak in the final seconds, sliding past the Legends 112-109.
The two teams went back and forth in the first quarter, tying it up three times before Bakersfield took control. The Jam took their largest lead of the game in the second quarter with a 14-point advantage, but the Legends cut the lead to six heading into the locker room. Bakersfield powered through the third, outscoring Texas 31-29 to increase their lead to eight. The fourth quarter saw a spark in the Legends who outscored the Jam 32-27, but the late spree proved not to be enough as Bakersfield clinched the victory with a missed opportunity by the Legends at the buzzer. Each team had only four scorers in double-digits. Texas shot 40.4% on the night to Bakersfield's 51.8% and got beat to the boards 39-51.
Devin Ebanks led the game in both scoring and rebounds with 36 points and 12 boards, while PJ Hairston added 29 in 36 minutes of play. Jared Cunningham and Archie Goodwin led the Jam with 29 and 28 points respectively.
