
BayHawks Acquire Walker in Three-Team Trade

Erie, Pennsylvania, Saturday, February 8 - The Erie BayHawks acquired center Ty Walker from the Maine Red Claws as part of a three-team trade, pending physicals. As part of the deal, the BayHawks sent Alex Oriakhi to the Sioux Falls Skyforce and a third round draft pick to the Red Claws.
Walker (7-0, 230, Wake Forest) is averaging 6.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game this season. He spent last year playing in France and Poland, where he averaged a combined 4.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game. As a senior at New Hanover high School, he was named North Carolina Mr. Basketball in 2008 before his four-year collegiate career at Wake Forest.
To complete the deal, Sioux Falls sent a fourth round draft pick in next year's draft to Maine. Walker is expected to join the BayHawks this weekend.
