
Canton Bounces Back with Win over Springfield

The Canton Charge came away with a 110-103 road victory over the Springfield Armor at the MassMutual Center on Saturday night. The win gives Canton (19-11) the 4-1 lead in the season series, while snapping Springfield's (10-18) four-game win streak coming into tonight's game.
With an opening quarter that featured three ties and three lead changes early, the Charge offense hit 13-of-20 attempts from the field in the period (65%) to post their most first quarter points this season with 37. The visitors took the lead for good when knotted at 22-22, they finished the first on a 15-6 run in the final 3:37 to pull ahead 37-28.
The Charge led for the entire duration of the final three quarters and by as many as 15. Springfield made it a one possession game on 11 separate occasions, but could never get over the hump nor pull even. Gilbert Brown scored 16 of his 25 points in the second half, also finishing with four rebounds and a steal in 37 minutes.
Arinze Onuaku continues to string up double-doubles, scoring 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting with 13 boards and a season-high five blocked shots in 34 minutes tonight. Ben Uzoh came off the bench to add 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting with four assists and a block in 27 minutes. Kevin Jones scored 18 points with four boards and two steals in 32 minutes. Cavaliers assignment Sergey Karasev scored eight points with four assists and a block in 33 minutes.
Darius Johnson-Odom poured in 36 points on 12-of-24 shooting with seven assists and six turnovers in 44 minutes. Jeff Foote scored 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting with 13 rebounds and a block in 36 minutes. Adonis Thomas netted 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting with five boards in 44 minutes. Canton's bench outscored Springfield's reserves 41-13 in the game.
