HIDALGO, TX - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), took on the first-place Rio Grande Valley Vipers on the road tonight. Despite overcoming a 14-point deficit, the Legends fell short in the final seconds 109-115.

The Vipers took control early in the first and would not let up until the game's second lead change midway through the third. Devin Ebanks knocked down a jumper to give the Legends their first lead in 28 minutes. The Vipers regained control with minutes left in the third, and increased their lead to 14, the largest of the night, seconds into the final quarter. Texas chipped away at the deficit, tying the game up for the fifth and final time with under two minutes to play. A timeout by the home team seemed to revitalize their bench as Kevin Parrom and Tim Ohlbrecht put up back-to-back layups to seal the Legends' fate.

Ebanks led the Legends in scoring with 30 points, while Marcus Hubbard had the team's only double-double posting 28 points, 17 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Robert Covington had a game-high 33 points and 10 rebounds for the Vipers while Ohlbrecht added 26 points and 7 boards.

The Legends will return home tomorrow night to host the Austin Toros at 7pm. The game will be broadcast live on television--KTXD 47--and radio--KVCE 1160am. For tickets or information visit www.TexLegends.com.
