EL SEGUNDO, CA, (Jan. 27, 2016) - The Texas Legends' (15-11) three-game road win streak came to an end in Los Angeles Wednesday night as they fell to the D-Fenders (14-14) 98-114.
Los Angeles' Vander Blue and Texas' Tu Holloway stole the spotlight in the first with 11 points apiece to lead their respective teams. The Legends battled back from a 12-point deficit but the D-Fenders maintained a slight edge all-around, taking a 29-23 lead into the second. Blue's hot streak continued as his 10-point effort led the D-Fenders to an 11-point advantage heading into the locker room.
Los Angeles never relinquished control, extending the spread to as much as 16 in the second half. Texas finished the night shooting 43% to Los Angeles' 50% and trailing 40-47 on the boards.
Holloway led the Legends with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. In his second game with Texas, newcomer Steven Pledger added 18 points, 7 rebounds off the bench while Jamil Wilson tied the team-high 7 boards and added 13 points. Patrick Miller (12 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists) and Toure' Murry (11 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists) rounded off the double-digit scores.
The D-Fenders also had five players in double-digits led by Blue with 29 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and Ryan Gomes with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists.
