Legends At The Rink On Renfrew

The Vancouver Giants will welcome three Montreal Canadiens legends to the Pacific Coliseum for their game Saturday November 21st against the Portland Winterhawks. Legends Night will honour the careers of Henri Richard, Yvon Lambert and Charlie Hodge.

The evening will start with a pre game tribute to the three players who have combined to win 19 Stanley Cups. The first five thousand fans at the Coliseum will receive a special limited edition hockey card featuring the three legends, and 100 randomly selected lucky fans will get to meet Richard, Lambert and Hodge during the game.

Henri "the Pocket Rocket" Richard played almost 13 hundred games over 20 seasons with the Montreal Canadiens. He recorded 1,049 points, and won 11 Stanley Cups, more than any other player in NHL history. Richard was the Captain of the Montreal team that won the Stanley Cup in 1973.

Yvon Lambert played 9 NHL season, and was a part of the Montreal dynasty that won four straight Stanley Cups from 1976 to 1979. Lambert is known for scoring the overtime game winning goal for Montreal in the 1979 Stanley Cup semi final against Boston in the "too many men on the ice" game. Lambert had seven 20 goal seasons, and two 30 goal seasons in his career, finishing with 479 points in 683 games.

Charlie Hodge played 13 seasons in the NHL for Montreal, Oakland and Vancouver. Hodge is a 4 time Stanley Cup winner and twice was named winner of the Vezina Trophy. Hodge also won a Memorial Cup in 1950 with the Montreal Jr. Canadiens.
