Rome, GA - Due to unplayable field conditions and lighting in the area, the Rome Braves and Lexington Legends finished their three game series with a 5-5 tie before a crowd of 2,005. This is the first time the Braves have had a tie at State Mutual Stadium. Lexington took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Ricky Aracena's ground out to plate a run. In the fourth, the Legends made it a 3-0 game on a two run single by Matt Morales. The Braves cut the lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the frame on Austin Bush's sacrifice fly RBI. Dennicher Carrasco had a run scoring single in the fifth giving Lexington a 4-1 advantage. Rome cut the lead in half with a run in the eighth thanks to William Contreras' RBI single. In the bottom of the ninth, the Braves tied the contest 4-4 on RBI base hits by Riley Delgado and Contreras sending the game into extra innings.

The Legends took the lead in the tenth on Brewer Hinklin's RBI single for the 5-4 score. Rome bounced back on a strikeout and wild pitch to Drew Waters sending Derian Cruz home to tie the game. The game went into the 11th and Lexington took a 6-5 lead until the heavens opened and the tarp was pulled onto the field. The rain continued and the inning was unable to be completed, and a 5-5 tie was called.

Rome starter Jasseel De La Cruz went six innings allowing four runs on seven hits. He was relieved by Daysbel Hernandez and Cutter Dyals who allowed no earned runs. Lexington used six pitchers in the ten inning affair.

The 2018 All-Star break is upon us and Rome returns to action Thursday evening in Augusta to open a three game series. The team returns home on Sunday June 24th against Greenville. For information contact the Rome Braves at 706-378-5144 or log onto www.romebraves.com.
