Left wing/defenseman Jerant Reassigned from Worcester

Peoria, Ill. – Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that left wing/defenseman Mark Jerant has been reassigned from the team's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Worcester IceCats.

Jerant – a 6-foot-6, 250-pound native Windsor, Ontario – racked up 51 penalty minutes (PIM) in 14 games with the Rivermen in his first reassignment from November 4 to December 16. The 24-year-old has amassed 15 penalty minutes (PIM), three fighting majors, in four games with the IceCats this season. Signed to a one-way AHL contract by Worcester on July 31, Jerant competed in 26 games for the Hershey Bears (AHL) in 2003-2004, registering 72 PIM with two assists, and he also appeared in 13 games with three points (1g, 2a) and 26 PIM for the Elmira Jackals of the United Hockey League (UHL) last year.
