FLORENCE, SC -- The Pee Dee Pride dropped their third straight game Sunday night, falling to the Greenville Grrrowl 2-1 in front of 2,099 fans at the Florence Civic Center.
After a scoreless opening period, the Pride got on the scoreboard 7:23 into the second period. Brian Collins won a faceoff to Adam Elzgina at the blue line, and he ripped a shot past Greenville goaltender Mike Brodeur for his second goal of the season.
Greenville tied it at 16:45 of the middle period as former Pride defenseman Vladimir Gusev skated down the left-wing side and beat Nick Boucher with a wrister for his second of the year.
The Grrrowl scored the game winner just 2:59 into the third period when Colin Pepperall slid a shot past Boucher on a goal-mouth scramble.
Brodeur made 41saves on 42 Pride shots to pick up the win. Pee Dee's power play continues to struggle, as the Pride went 0-for-5 on the man advantage.
Tuesday, the Pride travel to Gwinnett for a 7:00 face-off against the Gladiators. Catch all of the action on WDAR Sunny 105.5 and www.peedeepride.com starting with the Palmetto Chiropractic Pre-Game Show at 6:40.
