Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Lookouts were kicking on all cylinders on Wednesday night at AT&T Field. Chattanooga combined a solid collective offensive effort with a stellar pitching performance from starting pitcher Sam LeCure in an 8-0 win over the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx.

The Lookouts received all the offense that they would need in the first inning. With one out, Sean Henry and Adam Rosales both reached via walk. With Enrique Cruz at the plate, a double steal was attempted with the throw from catcher Rene Rivera sailing into left field. Henry would score on the errant throw to give the Lookouts a 1-0 lead. Cruz proceeded to strikeout, but Caonabo Cosme picked up the slack by slamming an RBI double. Chattanooga would cross their third run of the inning, when Michael Griffin blasted a triple to right.

The offensive momentum continued in the second with the Lookouts tacking on another run on a Jose Castro RBI single.

Meanwhile, Sam LeCure (7-4) dominated on the mound for the Lookouts. After surrendering a leadoff single to Brent Johnson to begin the game, the righty would pitch the remainder of his outing without yielding another hit. He would finish the night with seven shutout innings and 11 strikeouts.

Chattanooga would add three more insurance runs in the fifth on a three-RBI double off of the bat of Shaun Cumberland.

The eighth and final run of the game would be scored in seventh for the Lookouts on a Michael Griffin sac fly, which preceded a Caonabo Cosme triple.

The Lookouts will play game number four of the five-game series against West Tennessee, Thursday at 7:15. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts' game can be purchased at the Lookouts' box office, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling the ticket office at (423) 267-4849.
