Des Moines Buccaneers News Release

DES MOINES, IA - Des Moines has acquired forward Michael Mancinelli (2001) and a 2nd and 5th Round Phase II Draft Pick from Fargo in return for Kaden Bohlsen (2001) and Michael Kesselring (2000).

"We want to thank Michael Kesselring and Kaden Bohlsen for their hard work and service to the Des Moines Buccaneer organization and community," GM Tom Mannino said. "Both have a bright future and we wish them the best of luck moving forward. We also welcome Michael to the Bucs family, and are excited to see his offensive impact on Buccaneer Ice."

Mancinelli had a dominant season as a 16-year-old rookie last year in the USHL for the Madison Capitols. He was 6th in the USHL in rookie scoring with 35 points and outside of NTDP players, had the most goals scored by a 2001 birth year with 17. His impressive first year in the league earned him USHL All-Rookie Team honors for the 2017-18 season.

He most recently supported his country playing for Team USA at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup with fellow Buccaneer Tyler Paquette.

The Northville, Mi native is eligible for this summer's NHL Draft in Vancouver, along with fellow teammates Paquette, Brady Meyer and Kirby Proctor. He is also committed to the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks.

"I really like the style of play the Bucs run and I think my game will fit in well," Mancinelli said. "The team is having success and I am really excited to be a Buccaneer!"

The Bucs have three games set for this weekend, beginning with a pair of games in Lincoln against the Stars on Thursday and Friday. They'll wrap up the weekend at home on Saturday versus the Omaha Lancers.
