BRADENTON, FL - Runs in each of the final three innings for the Dunedin Blue Jays (19-26) were enough to salvage a series split with a 6-2 victory over the Bradenton Marauders (22-21) on Monday night. RHP Kyle Westwood allowed a season low one run over 5.2 innings while LHP Alonzo Gonzalez (W, 2-3) came in for the win in relief.

While Westwood was doing his thing, the Jays put up a run in the fourth inning with CF Anthony Alford's sacrifice fly scoring 3B Jason Leblebijian. Westwood worked around eight hits, but the one that hurt came in the sixth inning to tie the game. C Taylor Gushue pulled a solo home run to right center, collecting his third hit in as many at bats.

Dunedin had just four hits through the first six innings against RHP Austin Coley (L, 6-3). With the game tied at one in the top of the seventh, the Jays finally broke through. DH Derrick Loveless led off with a single and 2B Dickie Joe Thon promptly double him in to take the lead. Coley exited the game a batter later, and with two outs against RHP Miguel Rosario, Leblebijian singled to left to score Thon.

Dunedin would add insurance in the next two frames. C Michael De La Cruz provided a two-run double in the eighth. An inning later Leblebijian collected his fourth hit of the game, a solo home run to the opposite field in right.

Gonzalez recorded four outs in relief to earn the win, and LHP Tim Mayza allowed an unearned run over the final two innings.

The Jays begin a five game homestand with three against the Lakeland Flying Tigers on Tuesday night at 6:30 pm at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. RHP Justin Shafer is on the mound for Dunedin while the Flying Tigers send out RHP A.J. Ladwig.
