New Jersey SkyCats News Release
Mahwah, NJâJanuary 27, 2005âLeague officials ruled no contest in the disputed Jan. 25, 2005 game between New Jersey SkyCats and the Reigning Knights of Georgia. The teams were in dispute over the real winner the game due to a mix up at the scoring table that night.
The SkyCats took a road trip to Georgia to play two games with the first resulting in an outright win of 116-109 against Atlanta. The next day during the January 25 game the scorer's table neglected to give one point to the SkyCats at a crucial part of the game. This would have changed the outcome of the game for the SkyCats down the stretch. Though the SkyCats tried to alert the scorer's of the missing point by telling them that the score was tied nothing was done. After the game the official score sheet was tallied and it was noted that the score table had neglected to add New Jersey's point.
Derick Washington and SkyCats return home this weekend to face the Reigning Knights of Georgia again on both Saturday and Sunday. With the home court advantage this time the SkyCats are ready for the rematch.
