New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. - As the end of the regular season draws near, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) have maintained their distance over the rest of the Eastern League as the circuit's top team. The 'Cats return home Wednesday sitting on a double-digit playoff cushion and are alone atop the Eastern Division standings, setting up a potential playoff-clinching win at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in the coming days.
New Hampshire's current magic number to clinch a playoff berth is six (combined Fisher Cats wins and/or losses by the third-place team).
The Fisher Cats welcome the Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox) and Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Mets) to the shores of the Merrimack this week, as both visiting clubs arrive in Manchester for their final stops in New Hampshire this season.
Only 10 home games remain before the Fisher Cats (likely) embark on their third quest for an Eastern League championship in September.
