FRISCO, TEXAS, May 31, 2012 - As evidenced by the five awards the Texas Legends brought home from the 2012 NBA D-League Sales and Marketing Meeting this past week in Chicago, the Texas Legends continue to build a strong sports and entertainment business in Frisco. In particular, the D-League recognized the Legends in the following areas:

Most Full Season Tickets. The Legends received an award for season tickets. With more than 1,800 full season equivalents, the Legends led the D-League in season ticket sales for the second consecutive year. In its inaugural season, the Legends actually set the D-League record for season ticket sales.

Most Group Tickets. The Legends received an award for group tickets. With more than 1,300 group tickets per game, the Legends took over as the D-League leader in this category. The 1,300 group tickets per game were highlighted by unique jersey partnerships with charitable organizations such as Empowering Single Parents, Wipe Out Kids Cancer, as well as Green Night presented by Quest Recycling.

"Our season ticket holders and groups are the lifeblood of the Legends. They're just as much a part of the team as our players on the court," commented Legends President Bill Boyce. "All of our season ticket holders and group leaders are tremendously important to us. We are constantly looking for their feedback and look forward to seeing them at events throughout the summer and again as we tip off the 2012-13 season."

Most Sponsorships Revenue. The Legends received an award for sponsorship revenue. The Legends led the D-League and set D-League record in sponsorship revenue for a second consecutive year. In the process, the Legends authenticated over 50 brands each season. Significantly, the Legends entered into largest partnership in League history with Hewlett-Packard and was first team in the NBA family to have a sponsor logo (HP) be featured in the center court jump circle. Further, the Legends was the first team in NBA family to have six sponsor logos featured on a court.

The Legends Jersey Partnership with Choctaw Casino and Resort was featured in Sports Business Journal this past season. The other founding level partners are Hewlett-Packard, InTouch Credit Union, MetroPCS, The University of Texas at Dallas Executive MBA Program, and Baylor Medical Center at Frisco.

Most Community Appearances. The Legends also led the way in community appearances with more than 170 appearances during the past year. For example, the Legends held basketball clinics in Little Elm, Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Lewisville, and South Dallas. The Legends continue their community outreach this June with a week-long basketball camp at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship.

Best On-Court/In-Arena Activation. The Legends won this award with the Frat Boys presented by The Foundry Big and Tall Supply Co. The Frat Boys, a male dance team that performed at every Legends home game of the season, became a fan favorite during the course of the season. During one memorable game, a notable courtside season ticket holder even joined the fun-loving Frat Boys - ripping off his shirt during the course of the dance.

Best Sponsorship Activation. The Jumper Bee Entertainment sponsorship activation was a finalist in this category. The Legends in-game production is generally recognized as the best in the D-League. Jumper Bee Entertainment contributes significantly by incorporating its "WOW" pieces like the Rock Wall, Bungee Trampoline, Wizzer, Skating Rink, and Mechanical Bull into the fan experience. Jumper Bee also provides face painting, green screen pictures, carnival games, and inflatables of all shapes and sizes.

Other Significant Accomplishments. The Legends led the D-League in net gate receipts for a second consecutive season, the Legends was the first and only team to produce its own broadcast quality games which were telecast live on TXA21, and the Legends developed the most robust marketing database in the D-League.

"All of these awards and accomplishments are the result of a team effort," said Boyce. "We are so very proud of each and every person who contributed along the way. We have tremendous ownership, management, and staff featuring people who are bright, creative, talented, dedicated, and hard-working. And, Rich Allen and ActionCOACH of Collin County provide the best business coaching and sales training in the NBA D-League. While we are proud of our accomplishments this past season and the growth we have shown in the past year, we are not satisfied. We are dedicated and determined to keep the trend moving up indefinitely. Look for and expect great things this upcoming season."
