Four Armor Players Invited to NBA D-League Elite Mini Camp

SPRINGFIELD, MA- The Springfield Armor announced today that JamesOn Curry, Dennis Horner, Jerry Smith and L.D. Williams will be participating in the NBA Development League's third-annual Elite Mini Camp on Monday, June 4 and Tuesday, June 5, at Chicago's Moody Bible Institute. The Camp features some of the NBA D-League's top prospects from the 2011-12 season, and serves as an opportunity for those players to display their skills and be evaluated NBA team personnel.
The two-day event features both drill work and full-court games, giving players the best opportunity to showcase their talents. More than 50 NBA front office executives and scouts are expected to be on hand to evaluate the talent. Armor head coach Bob MacKinnon is set to direct the camp for the third time and assistant coach Chris Carrawell is one of seven additional coaches selected to work the camp.
"The NBA D-League's Elite Mini Camp gives almost 40 top prospects from our league an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of more than 50 NBA scouts and front office personnel," said Chris Alpert, Vice President of Basketball Operations and Player Personnel for the NBA D-League. "At the same time, the event affords NBA teams an offseason chance to check in on elite young players as they fill their summer league and training camp rosters."
The event, which was held in Los Angeles in 2009 and Chantilly, Va. in 2010, returns following a one-year hiatus in 2011.
Only the Armor, Bakersfield Jam and Canton Charge will be sending four or more players to the Elite Mini Camp.
