New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, will present the third annual Law Enforcement Night at Merchantsauto.com Stadium on Friday night, May 22, when they open a four-game series against the Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, in a 7:05pm game. The Fisher Cats will wear specially-designed law enforcement uniforms during the game that will be auctioned off, with proceeds to benefit the Manchester Police Athletic League (PAL).

"This annual event gives us the opportunity to thank the brave men and women in law enforcement who are committed to serving and protecting us on a daily basis," said Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner. "While they never look for any special recognition for doing their jobs, it is a privilege for us to honor them on this night and be a part of the Officer Michael Briggs Community Hero Award presentation."

The winner of the Officer Michael Briggs Community Hero Award will be announced in a pre-game ceremony, and that citizen will also receive a pair of 2010 Fisher Cats Season Tickets in honor of his community service. Manchester Police Department Chief David Mara will make the award presentation.

The Manchester PAL, which is participating in a Fisher Cats Ticket Fundraiser on Friday night, will also receive a portion of the 50-50 proceeds from that night's game. The Manchester Police Department Honor Guard will present the colors for the National Anthem, and members of the Manchester Police Mounted Police Unit will be at the main entrance of Merchantsauto.com Stadium to greet fans upon their arrival.

The Manchester Crimeline, Inc. will have a concourse table for fans to visit during the game, and the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) will be offering free children's identification kits to parents from its concourse display.

In addition to the Law Enforcement Night festivities, Friday night will include a pre-game parade for the members of the South Lawrence East Little League, whose season was placed in jeopardy last month when over $1,500 in baseball equipment was stolen from the league's locked storage area. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a free David Ortiz Bobblehead, courtesy of Sovereign Bank. For tickets, visit www.nhfishercats.com or call (603) 641-2005.
