Dayton Dragons News Release

Dayton, Ohio-Gavin LaValley's double to the gap in right-center field brought in Luis Gonzalez from first base with the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Dayton Dragons defeated the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 4-3 on Wednesday night.

The Dragons fell behind 3-0 in the first inning but battled back to tie it with one run in the second and two more in the third. There was no more scoring until the 10th inning. Gonzalez started the rally with a single to right field. With Gonzalez running on the pitch, LaValley lined a shot to right-center that split the outfielders, allowing Gonzalez to race around and score without a throw to the plate to give the Dragons their sixth walk-off win of the season and their third in their last six home games.

The Dragons collected seven hits. Ronald Bueno and Jimmy Pickens each extended hitting streaks to seven straight games while Gonzalez now has a five-game hitting streak.

The Dragons (31-28) host Wisconsin (18-41) in the second game of the series on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Junior Morillo (1-0, 1.80) will start for the Dragons.
