Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) -The Lake County Captains used homeruns from Bobby Bradley and Bobby Ison to rally back from a 4-0 first inning deficit. The Bobby attack accounted for all five runs as the Captains picked up their second straight win with a 5-4 win over the Clinton Lumberkings.
Clinton got all of their runs in the top of the first inning. Arby Fields walked to begin the game. Chris Mariscal would follow with a double to put two runners in scoring position. Chantz Mack would then ground out to drive in Fields with the first run of the game. Kristian Brito would then follow with an RBI single. A Joe DeCarlo double would push home the final run for Clinton and putting the Captains behind 4-0.
The Captains would get one back in the bottom of the inning. Greg Allen walked to start the bottom of the first inning. With two outs Bradley doubled to rightfield to score Allen.
In the bottom of the second inning Ison connected on his first professional homerun to lead off the inning. Ison's homerun cut the Captains deficit to 4-2.
With one out in the bottom of the third inning, Claudio Bautista walked. A walk to Dorssys Paulino moved Bautista into scoring. With two outs, Ison would strike again. He singled to righfield to score Bautista to make it a one run game at 4-3.
Bradley would put the Captains on top for good in the bottom of the fifth inning. Bautista started the inning by drawing his second walk of the game. Bradley would then connect on his eighth homerun of the year, a tape measure shot over the billboards in rightfield to put the Captains up 5-4.
Anderson Polanco started and went 4.1 innings. He allowed 4 runs, all earned, on 6 hits. He walked 4 and struck out 4. Caleb Hamrick (2-0) earned the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed one hit and walked 2 while striking out 1. Nick Pasquale (4) earned the hold with 2.0 innings of relief. He walked 2 and struck out 4. Cameron Hill (5) earned the save with 1.0 inning of relief. He walked 1 and struck out 3.
With the win the Captains picked up their thirtieth win of the season and move to 30-28. The Captains remain just 3.5 games out in the wind card race.
The Captains and Lumberkings will continue their series on Thursday night. Thomas Pannone (3-1) will get the start for the Captains. You can catch all the action on 1330AM WINT. Thursday is Thirsty Thursday, presented by Labatt and ESPN 850 WKNR, will feature a .25-cent Labatt Beer Happy Hour for one hour before game time and half-price domestic draft beer until 9 PM and half-price soda all game long. Game time is 7:00 PM. As part of Thirsty Thursday, the Captains will offer an all-you-can eat wing and pizza buffet outside the Corona Castaways Bar for only $14. Thursday will also feature an All-You-Can-Eat-Buffet in the Captains Cove, the Captains newest luxury area located on the suite level of Classic Park. The $25 ticket includes admission to The Cove, an all-you-can-eat buffet and non-alcoholic beverages.
