Augusta GreenJackets News Release

Augusta, GA - A three-run seventh inning brought the Augusta GreenJackets back from behind on Tuesday night in a 5-3 win over the Hagerstown Suns. The GreenJackets have won seven of their last eight and five in a row - extending their longest winning streak of the season.

Trailing 3-2 with one out in the seventh, Adam Duvall walked and Ryan Lollis followed with a single to put the tying and go-ahead runs on base. After a flyout allowed Duvall to tag and take third, Rafael Rodriguez drilled a two-out, two-run double to left field to give the GreenJackets a 4-3 edge. Jeff Arnold followed with another double to left, trading places with Rodriguez and pushing the Augusta lead to 5-3.

Drew Bowlin (1-0) benefitted from the late rally, getting the win after allowing three hits and a walk in two scoreless innings. After Brett Bochy struck out the side in a 1-2-3 eighth, Stephen Harrold got three groundball outs in the ninth to earn his 15th save of the year.

The Suns grabbed the lead in the first with three hits off Augusta starter Taylor Rogers. The second of those was an RBI single by Kevin Keyes that put the Suns up 1-0. After Jason Martinson's two-out double put men at second and third, Rogers buckled down to get out of the inning without further damage. He went on to retire 12 of the next 13 hitters before running into more trouble in the fifth.

With two outs in the inning, Hagerstown's Blake Kelso hit a hot-shot one-hopper that deflected off Bobby Haney for a base hit. Adrian Sanchez followed with a single that put men at first and second. After a wild pitch moved them up 90 feet each, Russell Moldenhauer's two-run double put the Suns up 3-0.

The GreenJackets manufactured a rally off Suns starter Robbie Ray in the fifth. Chris Lofton was hit by a pitch and then stole second and third base. He scored on a two-out, two-strike single by Ryan Lollis to put the GreenJackets on the board. Lollis stole second and took third on a throwing error by catcher Cole Leonida. A wild pitch on ball four to Josh Mazzola brought Lollis home from third to cut Hagerstown's lead to a run. Mazzola was left stranded at third as the tying run on a night where all eight runs in the game were scored with two outs in the respective innings.

Hagerstown reliever Sam Brown (2-3) took the loss, allowing two runs on a hit and a pair of walks in two innings, striking out two. Rogers got only his third no decision of the year, allowing three runs on six hits in five innings of work with four strikeouts.

The GreenJackets will send lefty Mike Kickham (1-5, 4.95) to the mound on Wednesday in hopes of keeping the winning streak alive beyond the current five-game stretch. Hagerstown will counter with right-hander AJ Cole (2-4, 2.87). First pitch will come at 7:05 p.m. with radio pregame coverage beginning at 6:50, airing on WRDW-AM 1630 and online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com .
