Late Rally Falls Short as Jackals Lose Seventh Straight

The New Jersey Jackals looked to get back in the win column on Tuesday night at Stade Stereo + against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles.

New Jersey started off on the right foot to begin the game after plating four runs in the top of the first.

Daniel Canela delivered an RBI single to score Dean Green to give the Jackals a 1-0 lead.

Kevin Torres then followed with a bases-clearing triple to score three runs and up the Jackals edge to 4-0.

Trois-Rivières responded with one swing of the bat off Jackals started Tyler Levine in the bottom of the inning.

Michael Suchy hit his ninth home run of the year; a grand slam to tie the game at four.

In the bottom of the third, the Aigles took its first lead of the game when Sam Dexter hit an RBI single to score Alexi Colon to make it 5-4.

David Gluade then hit a single to score Alex Herceg and push the lead to 6-4.

Jordan Hinshaw hit his third homer of the year for the Jackals in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to one run. Hinshaw had two RBIs in the first game of the series as well.

Trois-Rivières tacked on two runs in the bottom of the sixth on a RBI single by Kevin Cornelius to score Javier Herrera. Later, a wild pitch by Levine brought home Taylor Brennan to make it 8-5.

A wild pitch by reliever Angel Rincon brought in Jackals center fielder David Harris in the seventh inning.

Torres then collected his fourth RBI of the contest after grounding out to score Daniel Canela to make it 8-7.

After scoreless relief innings by Evan DeLuca and Vin Mazzaro in the seven and eighth, the Jackals tried their chance to snap its six game losing streak in the ninth.
