MIDDLETOWN, N.J. - With the game appearing to be destined for an extra period, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs got the game winner with less than two minutes to go.

With the puck carried behind the redline by Adam Anderson, the Titans committed to the puck carrier. It left Reggie Lutz open at the point. As he advanced into the slot, Lutz wound up and blasted a shot that wasn't seen until the netting stopped it.

The Ice Dogs were able to hold off the Titans for the remaining 70 seconds and won by a 2-1 score.

Prior to Lutz's game winner, no other goal had been scored outside the first period in either of the weekend's pair of games.

Like the night before, the game's prior two goals were scored in the first period.

Fairbanks struck first while taking advantage of a two-man advantage. Logan Coomes was able to burry a tic-tac-toe play from Ryner Gorowsky and Jake Stridesburg.

The lone Titans' goal came off a one-timer off the stick of Bruno Birzitis on the power play.  He connected on a slap shot from a cross-ice pass from Adam Hascic. It was his fifth of the season. Tony DiVito was also credited an assist on the play.

The Titans will return to action after a two-week break. They'll face the Aston Rebels on the road on Friday Jan. 8 and return home to face Rebels again the following night at 7:30 p.m.
