Bridgewater, NJ - The Long Island Ducks (37-23) defeated the Somerset Patriots (36-24) 3-1 at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening to reclaim first place in the Liberty Division.
The Patriots scored first, breaking the scoreless tie in the bottom of the sixth inning on an RBI double by Michael Ohlman.
The Ducks took the lead in the top of the eighth inning on a three-run home run by Hector Sanchez (4) for a 3-1 advantage.
Patriots starter Liam O'Sullivan pitched six scoreless innings and struck out seven in a no decision.
Cody Mincey (2-0) picked up the win with 1.2 scoreless innings pitched. Mike Broadway (1-3) suffered the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in an inning pitched. Enrique Burgos earned his seventh save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning pitched and two strikeouts.
The 2019 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home with a 7:05 pm game on Saturday, June 29th at TD Bank Ballpark.
