Iowa Barnstormers News Release

DES MOINES - The locally-owned Iowa Barnstormers today announced an aggressive promotions plan to "Fill the Well" for the July 26 season home finale against the defending af2 Arena Cup champion Tulsa Talons as Iowa goes for its third straight win and a potential playoff berth.

"We know that we have the best fans in all of arena football. Now it's time for the rest of the league to know it too," said Barnstormers President Jeff Lamberti, noting that the 'Stormers currently rank second out of 29 af2 teams in home attendance, averaging well over 9,000 fans per game. "There will be no better way to finish the regular season than playing before a packed house, defeating the defending af2 champs, and putting ourselves in a position to make the playoffs."

The Barnstormers have partnered with multiple central Iowa businesses to make this goal a reality through deeply discounted ticket opportunities and entertaining promotions, including:

ü Hy-Vee Discounted Tickets. Customers of Hy-Vee will have the opportunity to receive discounted ticket vouchers by shopping at any one of the 19 Des Moines area Hy-Vee stores. These $10 ticket vouchers represent a savings of 25% off the box office prices and over 50% savings off phone and online orders.

ü Casey's General Stores Giveaway. Casey's will not only provide free Barnstormers "can coozies" to the first 3,000 fans at the July 26 game; but the Ankney-based company will also be giving away the opportunity to attend the pre-game coin toss at midfield as the Barnstormers Honorary Team Captain for the July 26 game. Fans can enter to win this opportunity at the Barnstormers official pre-game tailgate party. Casey's will also have a contest for one Barnstormers fan to win free pizza for a year.

ü Miller Harley-Davidson Giveaway. In conjunction with the locally-owned Iowa Beverage Systems, Miller Brewing Company will be giving away a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle to one lucky fan at halftime of the July 26 game.

ü Player Game Jersey Raffle/Auction. The Barnstormers will be holding a jersey auction for every game-worn home jersey from the 2008 season on Saturday. Several of the jerseys will be placed in a silent auction on the arena concourse, while others will be sold during a live auction on the field following the game. Fans will also be able to purchase raffle tickets for select jerseys throughout the evening. Winning bidders and ticket holders will then have their jersey personally signed on the field after the game.

Playoff Update. The Barnstormers are now one of three teams playing for the eighth and final American Conference playoff berth. In order to qualify for the 2008 af2 playoffs, the Barnstormers (6-9) must win Saturday while Quad City (7-8) must lose at home Thursday night against Lexington and Louisville (7-8) must lose at home Saturday against Peoria. By virtue of head-to-head records, the Barnstormers would hold the tie-breaker in a three-way tie with Louisville and Quad City for the eighth and final playoff spot.

Kick-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Field at Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday, July 26. For further information regarding tickets or promotions for the July 26 game, please contact the Barnstormers' front office at (515) 633-2255.
