Last Call at RFK: United end their 22-season tenure at RFK Stadium

United (9-20-5, 32 pts.) ended the 2017 season with a 2-1 loss against the New York Red Bulls in their final match at the RFK Stadium in front of the 4th largest regular season attendance (41,418) in club history. United's Young Designated Player, Paul Arriola scored his first career MLS goal and final goal for the club at RFK Stadium.

Black-and-Red Legends including Ben Olsen, Jaime Moreno, Marco Etcheverry, John Harkes, Freddy Adu, Hristo Stoitchkov, Luciano Emilio, Dwayne De Rosario and more competed in a final alumni match at the venue. Players and staff who won the 1997 MLS Cup, which was played at RFK Stadium nearly 20 years ago to the date, on Oct. 26, 1997, were honored at halftime for the 20th Anniversary of MLS' and D.C. United's second MLS Cup Championship.

Robert F. Kennedy's daughter Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and several other members of the Kennedy family took part in the ceremonial first kick and helped honor the United legends during the post-match ceremony.
