Las Vegas Wranglers and Calgary Flames re-sign affiliation

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today a one-year affiliation agreement with the NHL's Western Conference Champion Calgary Flames for the 2004-05 season.

"The Calgary Flames are pleased to renew our affiliation in the ECHL with the Las Vegas Wranglers," said Calgary Flames General Manager/ Head Coach Daryl Sutter. "We believe our inaugural season with Las Vegas was a success and we look forward to working with Glen Gulutzan and his staff once again. We will attempt to supply the Wranglers with players that will help them win a championship while at the same time developing players for the Calgary Flames."

"The affiliation will work like last year. Any time you are affiliated with the Stanley Cup finalist it has to be a nothing but a good thing," said Wranglers General Manager / Head Coach Glen Gulutzan. "Calgary is a first class organization and we are proud to be affiliated with them. We recieved some good players last year and we hope to get some good players again this year. We are just very happy to be a part of Calgary and the development of their prospects."

Last season the Flames provided the Wranglers with four prospects, including goaltenders Brent Krahn and Dany Sabourin, as well as forward Garrett Bembridge and defenseman Deryk Engelland. For the upcoming season in 2004-05 the Wranglers are expecting five to seven Flames prospects to play in Las Vegas.

Calgary assigned 14 players to the AHL's Lowell Lock Monsters, including former Wranglers Krahn and Engelland. Lowell also received 13 players assigned from their primary NHL Affiliate the Carolina Hurricanes. Assignment of additional Flames prospects to Las Vegas is expected in the coming weeks.

The Wranglers total roster of signed players for the 2004-05 season is ten. The Wranglers have goalie Marc Magliarditi, defensemen Jason McBain, Mike McBain, Troy Smith, and Jon Krall signed. Forwards Morten Ask, Jeff Attard, Doug Wright, Dan Tudin and Chris Stanley are under contract for the 2004-05 season.

Fans may purchase seats to the Wranglers Opening Night on November 2nd as well as all other 35 regular season home games at any of the following ticket locations; The Orleans Arena Box Office, Coast Casinos' showroom box offices at The Orleans, Gold Coast and Suncoast, or at the Boulevard, Galleria or Meadows Malls guest relations/ticket centers. The Wranglers will give their fans a sneak preview when they host the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies for two preseason games on October 15th and 16th at 7:05 pm.

Opening Night for the Las Vegas Wranglers 2004-05 season is Tuesday, November 2nd against the Long Beach Ice Dogs at 7:05 pm. The regular season concludes Saturday, April 9th against the Alaska Aces. The Wranglers play all 36 home games at the Orleans Arena, located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
