Large Lead Whittles Away In 7-5 Loss

The Keys were coasting along, atop 5-0 with starter Pedro Beato rolling along when the bottom fell out as Lynchburg plated the games final seven runs in upending the Keys 7-5 in the series opener Saturday night at City Stadium.

Frederick took the lead sending eight batters to the plate in the second inning. 2B Todd Davison brought home the game's first run with an RBI-single. That was immediately followed by LF Chris Amador's two-run double and Frederick had a 3-0 lead. Davison would go 3-for-4 on the night.

1B Brandon Snyder came through in the clutch with two-out RBI base hits in the fourth and sixth innings to put Frederick atop 5-0. Snyder had a big day going 3-for-5 with two RBI's. He know has driven home 17 runs in his last 15 games.

The Hillcats would claw back though scoring three times in the sixth inning and once in the seventh to get within one run. Keys reliever Zach Clark could not hold them down in the eighth as the game was broken open by Hillcats C Kris Watts. He doubled to left-center scoring two and the Hillcats led following the inning 7-5.

The series continues with Tim Bascom atop the hill for Frederick Sunday night at 6:05 p.m. Frederick returns home for the first ever Peanut Free Night at Harry Grove Stadium Wednesday July 9th at 7:00 p.m.
