Lane Adams Named Texas League Player of the Week

SPRINGDALE, Ark. - Naturals' center fielder Lane Adams earned Texas League Player of the Week honors for the week of June 23-29, Texas League President Tom Kayser announced Monday.

After receiving the honor to represent the North in the Texas League All-Star game in North Little Rock, Arkansas, Adams returned to the Naturals for a six game road trip in Midland and Frisco. In the first five games of the current road trip, he went 9-21 with 3 home runs, 3 stolen bases and 12 runs batted in. Adams becomes the second Natural to earn player of the week honors, and it comes on the heels of teammate Cheslor Cuthbert taking home the honors last week.

As evidenced by earning player of the week honors in back to back weeks, Adams in addition to Cuthbert have been terrorizing Texas League pitching for the majority of June as both have hit over .300 this month. Over the last ten games the duo has gone 32-82 with 6 home runs, 5 stolen bases and 22 runs batted in.

After hitting 2 home runs between April and May, Adams has hit seven in June. The Naturals wrap up their road trip today in Frisco and then return home for a six game homestand starting on Wednesday with three against Midland and three against Frisco as part of "The Great American Blast" on July 3-5 including the three biggest Fireworks Spectaculars in all of Northwest Arkansas.
