Omaha Lancers News Release

RALSTON, NE - In the finale of their eight-game regular season series vs. their bitter rivals, the Lincoln Stars, the Omaha Lancers fought back from down 3-0 in the first period to defeat Lincoln on the road on Friday, thanks in large part to a hat-trick from Lancers Assistant Captain and Omaha native Gage Hough. With the victory, the Lancers' fourth in a row, Omaha improved to 31-9-4 overall this season and with 66 points, remain alone in second place in the Western Conference and overall USHL standings, just one point shy of the suddenly skidding Waterloo Black Hawks. After allowing three quick goals to the Stars on Friday, Hough started the comeback late in the first before multi-point performances from Tucker Poolman (2G), Jake Randolph (2A), Tyler Vesel (GWG, 1A) and Luca Frigo (2A) helped the Lancers wrap their 2013-14 head-to-head series with Lincoln at 5-1-2 overall and 2-0-2 at the Lincoln IceBox Arena. Next up for the Lancers, it's the first of back-to-back three-game weekends, starting with a Friday road clash with the defending Anderson and Clark Cup champion Dubuque Fighting Saints (26-12-3, 55 pts., 3rd in Eastern Conference) at 7:35 pm at the Mystique Community Ice Center in Dubuque, Iowa before a return trip to Ralston Arena for a pair of home games on Saturday and Sunday.
