Ralston, NE - The Omaha Lancers, members of the United States Hockey League announced today they have signed forward Emilio Pettersen to a tender for the 2016-2017 season.

The 15-year-old is committed to the University of Denver. "I feel extremely honored to be a part of this great organization," said Pettersen. "To see the Omaha area, players, and coaching staff made my decision a lot easier and it really felt like a good fit for me. The group of guys were great and sure made the trip a lot of fun on and off the ice."

Currently in his second season with the Selects Hockey Academy 16U's of the USPHL, Pettersen has recorded 21 goals and 44 assists for 65 points in 40 games. Last year in 28 games, the native of Norway racked up 18 goals along with 23 assists for a total of 41 points.

"The Lancers couldn't be more excited to add Emilio to our family," said Head Coach and General Manager Brian Kaufman. "He's an extremely gifted hockey player, comes from a great program at Selects Hockey Academy, and knows what it takes to win."

Pettersen is looking forward to taking the next step during the 2016-2017 season. "The fans at Ralston Arena can expect to see a lot of skill, compete and passion for the game," he finished.

The Lancers return home this Saturday to face the Lincoln Stars at Ralston Arena. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m. Can't make it?
